True Realistic Art

Quarles Art

Doug and Sharon are Artists now residing in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They love doing realistic art in their studio as well as on various buildings. The fine art they produce resembles photography; therefore, they call their art photo-realism. As one drives about Tucumcari you would believe people are literally standing by their murals, therefore realism evolves. Since they are newcomers in the region they are out taking their own photos of the various subjects, such as animals and landscapes, even close ups of bugs in rocks to use in their art.

When in the studio they brainstorm with the ideas they have for a particular mural or a painting and even drawings as they use many mediums in their fine art such as acrylic, oils, graphite, charcoal, pastels and color pencils. The sizes they produce vary from large murals measuring 20 feet by 114–foot building to a 2 inch by 4–inch miniature paintings. Versatility is a challenge as larger then life and smaller than life makes the realism of all subjects exciting for them. Doug and Sharon's art has been shown in Albuquerque, Taos, Clovis and many businesses in Tucumcari, New Mexico. They have their art now showing at the Sundowner Gallery in Tucumcari and at the Buffalo Nickel Gallery in Cimmeron, New Mexico.
